Another question about my first idea (replace corosync),

is is really difficult to replace corosync by something else ?

Sheepdog storage for example, have support for corosync and zookeeper.

Instead of a literal prefix you could use a binary prefix instead. A
binary prefix occupies fewer bytes in pmxcfs meaning fewer bytes to
exchange between nodes and determine whether a VM is a citizen in this
cluster or form a foreign cluster is just a matter of a binary and (&).
