[PVE-User] Win10/Hyper-V in VM

Hello,

the last success was due to a change I adopted from the internet:

args: -cpu host,+vmx

With this, the VM started, but there were other problems, like unclean shutdowns. So I added the cpu features I greped from "ps". Then the problem returned but not on every start.

This is the cpu feature list generated by Proxmox:

-cpu host,+kvm_pv_unhalt,+kvm_pv_eoi,hv_spinlocks=0x1fff,hv_vapic,hv_time,hv_reset,hv_vpindex,hv_runtime,hv_relaxed,hv_synic,hv_stimer

When I skip "hv_synic" the VM boots reliable and the Hyper-V manager connects to the local daemon. Adding it again, it may work for a few reboots but sometime start to fail.

Hello Ian,

thank you for reply. You are right, I didn't checked the page before. But I think I missed to put it into clear words: I used Proxmox as guest (with VMs) on this server before. So the server and a linux guest passed all checks on this page.

But ...
After the checks all works fine!
I don't have /etc/modprobe.d/kvm-intel.conf But "cat /sys/module/kvm_intel/parameters/nested" returns "Y".

I will do some test (with reboots) at the weekend.

yet?

I have used this in the past to simulate a proxmox cluster on one proxmox hypervisor (purely for research), it worked for me, I could run vm's on the hypervisor vm's.
