Indeed, we have almost no detail to work on.

I've had no problems with NFS, but without knowing what server setup you
are using, impossible to say. If you want to rule NFS out I'd suggets
running the VM off local storage.

Actually, with random crashes my first thought would be possible RAM parity
errors. How much ram do you have? is it ECC?
