The main disadvantage is that you cannot share that storage between
proxmox servers.
So, no migration, no HA, just like a local storage.

If you use LVM above your iSCSI device, then you can share it, the
clusterware and lvm activations will handle that.
As there is no filesystem involved, no needs for mount / umount.
