Hi,
I watch the hosts and guests (Debian) with Nagios / Centreon, they make
SNMP queries to those servers that run Snmpd (Net-SNMP agent).
I have an unresolved bug for several years, in SNMP response Virtio
interfaces speed is zero and I have an alert on the suppervision.
In 2011, I posted a bug report on the Debian bug tracking system :
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=635616
I would like some feedback from other people.
A guest who uses Virtio and Snmpd when you make a SNMP query, do you
have a speed to zero for Virtio interface?
eth0 and eth1 are Virtio:
RFC1213-MIB::ifDescr.1 = STRING: "lo"
RFC1213-MIB::ifDescr.2 = STRING: "eth1"
RFC1213-MIB::ifDescr.3 = STRING: "eth0"
RFC1213-MIB::ifType.1 = INTEGER: softwareLoopback(24)
RFC1213-MIB::ifType.2 = INTEGER: ethernet-csmacd(6)
RFC1213-MIB::ifType.3 = INTEGER: ethernet-csmacd(6)
RFC1213-MIB::ifMtu.1 = INTEGER: 16436
RFC1213-MIB::ifMtu.2 = INTEGER: 1500
RFC1213-MIB::ifMtu.3 = INTEGER: 1500
RFC1213-MIB::ifSpeed.1 = Gauge32: 10000000
RFC1213-MIB::ifSpeed.2 = Gauge32: 0
RFC1213-MIB::ifSpeed.3 = Gauge32: 0
Regards.
