Remember, this is 4 years ago with many iterations and releases later.
I could be at that time scsi-generic gave better performance but today
the situation seems to have changed in favor of scsi-block? And as well
as scsi-generic scsi-block likewise passes through scsi-unmap so trim
also works with scsi-block.

To summe it all up. I think scsi-generic should be reserved for the
situations were you make pass-through of a HBA/RAID controller to a VM
or if device is either scsi-CD, scsi-tape, or scsi-backplane.
