Just a note:
I talk with the maintainer of the deb package, some changes will be done soon in init.d script,
as the recommendations is to run 1 sheep daemon by disk in the cluster.

So it will be possible to define more than 1 sheepdaemon in default file.


also,
I should be possible to activate sheepdog daemon out of the box with /var/lib/sheepdog,
but we need to add user_xattr, as / is ext3.
I Don't know if it's better to use a full dedicated disk or not.

Yes, I think this is the correct branch. 0.4.0 will be release this week.

Sure,I'll redone tests with 0.4.0 will be release.

about performance, I have done some tests with Stefan Priebe,
for random write,directio,4K block we are around 40000io/s with sheepdog vs 15000io/s with ceph.
But ceph seem to be good for big sequential steam,I have read some reports of 40Gb/s of read stream.

So both seem good, depend of the workload. (I'm sure they will improve in time).
