I have done that. Since it happens not very often, we'll have to wait a 
while to find out if this really solved it.

Strange BTW, flaky hardware clocks... these machines are brandnew 
Supermicro 6028R-E1CR12L 2U servers...

Do/did you often need the minpoll/maxpoll config?
