[PVE-User] No hostnames are visible on network

Hi Gary,

Do you have your own DNS server on your network? You need to either manually add those IP address' to your DNS server with their hostname. Or you need to tell your Containers to report their name to the DNS server when they get their IP address from the DHCP server.

I don't know the procedure for the second option, don't know enough about Linux to do it myself.

Good Luck,

Subject: [PVE-User] No hostnames are visible on network

I am a nubie and I have just installed PROXMOX 4.1 with 2 LXC containers
(Fileserver & MySQL from turnkey). I can access both of these via their
IP address but not via their host names. Nor can I find the proxmox
server by its host name. I have the containers set up to use dns so the
IP addresses change over time. I really want to use the host names
especially to access MySQL. Any help is appreciated.
