This feature has been asked about for at least the last 4 years and there has not been very much interest shown from the dev team.
I agree that this would be very helpful...and hope to see it added at some point soon.

3. The option to have the VM powered on after restore.
Maybe not priority but all above points help if you have a total system failure and need to reinstall the entire server and restore multiple VMs.
