Now that you say this, I recall having this problem on a recent P2V.

We have windows 2003 systems using block driver version 6.0.0.10 with 
date 20/09/2010 since quite a long time, and also version 61.63.103.2200 
with date 13/02/2012 since about 20 months. This last one should be from 
virtio-win-0.1-22.iso
