[PVE-User] Hostnames with vzdmp

We decided to just use the hook script to append the vm hostname to the end of the logfile...we can track which backup file belongs to which vm hostname that way.

I still think it is a bit odd that vzdump does not allow for this functionality by default...but this will work well for us now.

I'm looking also on how to do that via the web-gui of proxmox, but in commandline it can be done.

Just curious why you wanted to change the vzdump filename with the VM hostname?

Because every vzdump whether successful or not you get an email about it and able to track it…
