[PVE-User] installation problem on squeeze

is 64bit, but I think that is not your problem.

You need to be root to do this:

1. Write the repositories int /etc/apt/sources.list
# nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Copy into this file this:
########
# PVE packages provided by proxmox.com
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian squeeze pve
########
2. Save the file: Ctrl+O and exit: Ctrl+X
3. Add the repository key

# wget -O- "http://download.proxmox.com/debian/key.asc" | apt-key add -

4. update the sources
# apt-get update
5. You don't upgrade if you have a stable system with other apps.
If you don't have anything in the server, upgrade:
# apt-get upgrade.

6. Search packages:
# apt-cache search pve-firmware
or
# apt-cache search pve-kernel
7. Install the results: if you obtain pve-kernel-2.7-pve, install 
#apt-get install pve-kernel-2.7-pve
