[PVE-User] Ways to apply mergeide.reg after building windows vm?

Has anyone a way to applicate the mergeide.reg to a non functional
win2003 virtual machine?

We had to build up a Windows2003-Server from an old (acronis) backup for
forensic purpose. The original machine was running on a physical raid
(which isn't available any more) so we get a blue screen (unaccessible
boot device) after booting the vm.

We tried Acronis universal restore which failed.

Any idea anyone?
