[PVE-User] I thought Proxmox VE was free?

While I understand what is intended with the support page and I also
understand that maybe the people on spiceworks don't fully understand the
licensing, I can see where the confusion comes in. We have many software
products (of course, not open source) that have what the company calls a
"support contract" with the software. This must be renewed annually for
us as this not only provides us with technical support but includes things
like software updates or generating license files (in the case of FlexLM
based software). It could be that this is part of where their confusion
settles in with regards to the wording on the support subscription page.
While I use proxmox and understand the difference and when a support
contract is needed, I do also agree that when I first read the words on
the subscription page (just today trying to catch up on the mail list
email) that it could be confusing to some. Regardless of the spiceworks
thread, I think you should strongly consider changing this wording anyways
as I think its in the best interest of Proxmox and promoting its use. You
could have somebody completely unrelated to the spiceworks thread come
along that hesitates to use it just because of that wording as well. To
lose them to some other paid vendor, just because of that, would be a
shame.
Just my two cents. I know you guys are busy but I did want to share my
thoughts on the subject. Thanks for a great FREE product!
