No, seriously: I understand that not two nodes should try to access the same lvm partition at the same time but adding/deleting partitions and accessing different partitions should be safe because the nodes do see the actual lvm metadata (structure)!?
At least that was what I found wile fiddling around with ISCSI. And dont the cluser nodes do exactly that?
The only thing I can imagine would be a race condition between two nodes adding/deleting exactly the same moment.

You can't use LVM without a locking mechanism - this would be very dangerous!
