You need to find out what provides this. A quick google on that board
suggests that it is supported by the ICH6 south bridge, which is not
hardware raid, but rather a hardware-assisted software raid with a
specialized driver (fakeraid). This is contrasted to the normal Metadisk
RAID which is a pure software raid.

Unfortunately, from here on I can be of little help. I've always
profaned from those setups. If I'm going to do real hardware RAID, I
grab a 3Ware Escalade (or similar). If I'm going to do software RAID, I
use the standard Linux software RAID (and, indeed, this is how I run
Proxmox. Ssssh. Don't tell anyone), as it is more portable between machines.
