You can start a VNC proxy manually:
nc -l -p 5950 -c "qm vncproxy VMID password"
make sure to choose a free port. Then simply connect to that port.

Subject: [PVE-User] vnc question
Hello,
Sometimes I have issues using the built in vnc console link on the status tab. This problem exists on my end and is not a proxmox issue...however I was wondering if I have the ability to use an external vnc viewer when this happends?
If I can...can someone provide some details and how to do so...assuming a VMID of 105 for example.
Thanks,
Shain
