[PVE-User] how to tell to PVE the description of a template

Hi,

I tried to upload some of my templates via the web interface, but I got
an error message, even with centos5 or ubuntu virtual appliances.

How can I inform PVE about the description of my appliance?

Now I copied them directly via ssh to the right place and I can create
VEs based on them.

The error message is:
"Error: unknown file extension - unable to detect template type"

Is there a name convention?
I used centos5-mini.mc.yum.dag.tar.gz and
ubuntu-8.04-i386-minimal.tar.gz
