Perhaps a socat coproc with the -T option? It should be installed since
we already need it:

# apt-cache rdepends socat |grep qemu
  qemu-server
# apt-cache rdepends qemu-server
qemu-server
Reverse Depends:
  pve-manager
  pve-ha-manager
  proxmox-ve
