But do you think it's possible to use/adapt bitmap feature with proxmox vma backup?

Or implement full qemu backup feature as alternative to proxmox vma ?

(I don't remember exactly the difference between proxmox vma format, and the qemu backup format)

You can still use the qemu incremental backup feature (bitmap) to optimize that.
