at least for our backup storage 3x 50TB it works good since Kernel 4.4. 
Before it had too many bugs and still nobody backports all stuff to 
stable kernels.

Currently we run 4.1 + 350 btrfs patches on top up to vanilla 4.5 rc 
patches.
