about memory,
currently I define
maxmemory:
to enable hotplug,
-m size=<memory>,slots=255,maxmem=<maxmemory>M
maybe could we define a big maxmem value by default (like 2TB),
to remove this option.
I don't known if
-m size=<memory>,slots=255,maxmem=<maxmemory>M
vs
-m size=<memory>,
break migration

It's not included. It's the same with the plugged dimm modules. You must start the vm exactly with the current topology and dimm count/ plugged dimms.
