      currently it is allowed to change all configuration settings for a VM. But may be some
      are only allowed if VM is offline or if hotplug is enabled

    Does this patch prevent some config changes when the machine is online?

    I would argue if so. Sometimes it is useful to make changes while you know it is going to be applied after power off/power on. What about notifications instead something like:

    "This change will apply after power off/power on, migration will fail until changes are applied"?
