But total migration time reduces a lot.

VM downtime is the same. But if you need to move for example 30 VMs away 
using 150GB memory cause you want to replace HW it is a LOT faster.

Yes but at least for all my tests i was able to transfer at around 
1000MB/s. Storage and other things were using around 200MB/s.
