depend of you kernel version (But yes it was some time ago)
XFS since 2.6.16 1
ext4 since 2.6.26
and virtio drivers only since 2.6.32 .... (but qemu 1.2 can detect now if virtio support flushes)

If default filesystem is EXT4 or XFS then you don't need to worry since
