maybe it'll works, doesn't know ... (But I'm a bit scarry about hacking qemu)

Can we already tag vlans inside a guest ? (I never try)


What's the main problem for you to manage vlans on host interfaces ?

Setting up those vlans on the host is a mess. I wonder if we can go another way. 

Seems the 'e1000' and 'virtio-net' qemu driver supports vlans. 
Can't we simply force VLAN tagging/filtering there? 

Looking at the code in qemu-kvm/hw/virtio-net.c or qemu-kvm/hw/e1000.c, that 
seems to be easy to implement, and does not seem to have any performance impact. 

Or is that a bad idea?
