if a users edits/uses a template, he (probably) already used the cli
at times...

until now we always told the users to check the templates on every
update (which is very tedious, since we do not change them that often)

now it uses (afaics) the same mechanisms as the default debian ones
(e.g. when users edit their ssh config, which often happens)

the gui update still uses the console so this works as intended?
